This site is dedicated to my book "Hey Mom! I joined the Marines!"

It is a compilation of personal stories from families whose loved ones began their training through boot camp for the United States Marines at Parris Island, SC. This is not your typical story of becoming a United States Marine. It is a hand book of sorts for those of us unfamiliar with the process that our loved ones will experience when they join the Marine Corps and begin their journey through boot camp. It is a wonderful look into the lives of families who started out this journey believing they were the only one unfamiliar with this process, only to find that were not alone.

It is packed with personal first-hand experiences from mothers, sisters, wives and a few fathers detailing what we experienced as our loved ones began this journey. You will read of our fears of the unknown of sending off our child/loved one to boot camp and of our ability to learn to let go and allow them to follow their dream.

My hope is that the information in my book may help you and your Recruit as you go through this time of transition.
